Moon+ Reader Customer Insights

1. The current text selection menu is a bit crammed and you need to be fairly precise with your button press.App cannot scroll a simple PDF without getting a "Temporary hardware rendering error"! No other reader I tried had problems with the exact same PDF.

2. I'm reading a webnovel that is the equivalent of four books (roughly 30000 pages), and I have, more than once, hit the progress bar thinking it was the brightness level and completely lost my spot in my book!I've only used the app for a few hours, but so far i enjoy it, both because of the large number of settings and the free books sites.

3. (And, yes, I reloaded the app, tweeked this and that, and gave it 10x the time and attention no other app even needed -- my guess is it's too busy loading ads in the background to function as a working reader.) Clearly the issue is common enough to warrant a pop-up "Warning!" but not worth the time to fix? Uninstall.Overall great app.

4. This problem isn't limited to this app, i just happen to be leaving a review because i like everything else about this one, and i'm hoping the devs will fix this.It's been great so far letting me read a variety of file types and providing lots of customizing options to make the reading experience better.

5. But my larger than normal phone (galaxy s8+) causes some books to display wrong in potrait mode, every two lines theres a paragraph, it goes away in landscape, but sorta weird feeling reading like that.

6. So many customization options, dark mode, blue light filter! The ONLY problem is I cannot get rid of the progress bar! When I open the options (by tapping the middle of the screen) a bar pops up and it is the progress bar that is the bane of my existence.

7. * With recent updates (I hadn't read in a few months, and just cranked up my tablet, noticing that the MReader is now at 5.0) the ads seem like they're popping up a LOT more .... annoyingly so ... I'm considering spending the $5 and getting the Pro version, but am going to check out some of the alternatives before I do ... All in all, 4 starsAdmittedly, if I could, I'd give this four and a half ⭐.

8. However: * The UI can be a bit cumbersome, but I imagine it must be difficult to cram so many features, into an app, and get the UI "polished" on the first iterations * The way/place books are stored is extra clunky to me (IT Consultant for over 25 years).

9. If I could provide one suggestion, it would be to allow additional customization of the text selection menu.

10. maybe there's a way to configure that that I haven't found yet.Great reader, I've been using it for about a year, and it pretty much does everything I'm looking for in an e-book reader.

11. Rather the books are copied back to the internal storage on the phone/tablet, using precious space, instead of very little space on the inserted SD card (mine is 64GB).

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Moon+ Reader Issues

1. Fix Moon+ Reader Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Moon+ Reader: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Moon+ Reader App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Moon+ Reader" » Open Moon+ Reader » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Moon+ Reader » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Moon+ Reader app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Moon+ Reader servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Moon+ Reader" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Moon+ Reader app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Moon+ Reader might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Moon+ Reader. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Moon+ Reader then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Moon+ Reader not working


2. Fix Moon+ Reader Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Moon+ Reader be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Moon+ Reader not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Moon+ Reader may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I need to send an email with attachments to document my problem. I can't really do it from here. Please send me an email address I can write to. But to state my problem briefly: comments on pdfs opened in MoonReaderPro can be edited in two places: (1) in the text of the pdf by touching the highlighted text, then touching the comment, going into Note, editing, and saving, and (2) going to Bookmarks and editing the comment there. But changes made in either place don't show up in the other; there are thus two lists of comments that should be but are not in sync. They need to be in sync.

  • Unable to delete the highlighter , I bought copy right version, how to remove the highlighting of citation from the book thee things makes me difficult to read . Pls solve asap , send user catologue otherwise

  • If I edit a note while looking at a pdf in Moon+ Reader Pro, the change I make to the note does not appear in the note when I look at it in the Bookmarks view. And if I edit the note in Bookmarks view, what I change does not appear when I look at the note when viewing the document. The notes in document view and Bookmarks view seem to be decoupled.

  • A question: if I upgrade my Moon+ Reader pro app on my Android phone, will that reset the conventions on the colors of highlighted portions of text (when viewing the pdf itself and when viewing the bookmarks). Or, will it keep the color choices in the app version on my phone before updating?
