掌閱 iReader Customer Insights

1. I never write such a long review for an app but it really worth to get such creditGreat reading experience with this app, clean interface, user friendly, a lot of reading settings to fit user comforts, price per chapter/ whole book is reasonable, that's why I've given 4 stars.

2. Deducted 1 star because: sometimes would stuck in blank page, loading time very long even downloaded chapters, cannot read without internet access, keep showing "提取信息失败".I used to love this app now it's so bad agree with all the other recent comments.

3. Barely to read text in white colour with yellow background.Honestly, a very nice app for reading! It got every basic thing you need for reading, most importantly it's free of ads, which I appreciate a lot.

4. One of the feature I love is it easily allows you to convert a pdf file in a epub format in case you're having a hard time reading pdf files on your phone.

5. Also the documentation for changing to simplified is completely misleading and a huge waste of time as that function doesn't exist.Very nice UI and operating experience.

6. All the personalized preset changed back to system default and all text are now in traditional Chinese instead of simplified chinese.

7. Suddenly the latest update doesn't allow me to use simplified chinese.

8. And it changes the fonts to traditional Chinese from Simplified Chinese, and there is no way to switch it back.

9. All my books become traditional Chinese and no way to change back to simplified Chinese.

10. Hopefully the app has the function to allow me to choose language settings and interface colour.

11. My own dark mode settings was removed with automatic dark mode that doesn't allow the previous level of customization.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix 掌閱 iReader Issues

1. Fix 掌閱 iReader Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart 掌閱 iReader: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the 掌閱 iReader App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "掌閱 iReader" » Open 掌閱 iReader » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for 掌閱 iReader » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear 掌閱 iReader app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from 掌閱 iReader servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "掌閱 iReader" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check 掌閱 iReader app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, 掌閱 iReader might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall 掌閱 iReader. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall 掌閱 iReader then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing 掌閱 iReader not working


2. Fix 掌閱 iReader Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make 掌閱 iReader be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to 掌閱 iReader not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, 掌閱 iReader may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
