Micro Fi Customer Insights

1. Whatever.so excited to use the digital imager, paid $60 for it, but the app is out of date and there is no way to use it???? crooks.this needs to be updated, please open source the code.Doesn't link easily.Good app, lots of fun with my daughter but needs to be updated so I can use it on my Pixel 2 XL.

2. I own a Celestron Micro Fi that doesn't work because the app has never been updated since 2014.

3. Beware.Worked on a Samsung Galaxy A42 in July 2022.

4. mine is new, but it will not work with a Samsung Galaxy S10.

5. You must connect to MicroFi wifi before it will work.

6. I would prefer to have the stream path and use VLC.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Micro Fi Issues

1. Fix Micro Fi Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Micro Fi: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Micro Fi App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Micro Fi" » Open Micro Fi » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Micro Fi » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Micro Fi app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Micro Fi servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Micro Fi" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Micro Fi app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Micro Fi might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Micro Fi. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Micro Fi then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Micro Fi not working


2. Fix Micro Fi Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Micro Fi be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Micro Fi not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Micro Fi may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
