1. How can they manage to make a concept as simple as a text search across documents more difficult than building a rocket? This app is ridiculous.Great concept, best most powerful, document content search I have found on Android, but has major problems with search not showing complete results and with my 400 GB of data consisting of over 90,000 files.
2. If you need local content search on Android, DocSearch+ is the best I've found.I don't think people realize how powerful this app is.
3. As far as I can tell you have no control over the filename search and the content search indexes are additive only meaning you'd need to add all your directories manually if you want to exclude a few.
4. Underneath is by far the best content search tool I've found on mobile.
5. Very applicable umm.... app(?) 😉Overall I like the app but have found some issues in the search function.
6. Only current problem is most recent update keeps failing to install, and I can't figure out why.So far so good! It gives you a chance to uncheck a lot of directories you don't want/need it to index before it does so.
7. The premium subscription is worth it.Excellent search app.
8. Only true negative is the inability to easily exclude directories from search.
9. Of particular use to me is its ability to search inside pdf files.
10. For instance I have stories that show pairings as Name1/Name2 but when you put that in quotes eg "Name1/Name2" the app returns any story that contains either Name1 or Name2 rather than the shorter list of stories that contain the phrase "Name1/Name2".
11. Two minor matters, (1) it would be nice if the index could include the SD card and (2) like an earlier reviewer I find the font tiny and wish I could enlarge it.
