Why should I report an Issue with Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems?

1. Miss the old version.Mathway is such a life saver! Algebra is a difficult subject for me and this has made it so much easier for me! I like how it gives you the option on how to solve the equation and the results are always accurate, correct, and trustworthy! It also shows you a breakdown of how to solve the equation so next time you can attempt to solve the problem yourself! I would 100% recommend for high schoolers to use this app! It cuts the time you spend doing math in half.

2. I hate that it automatically opens in camera mode but when I take a picture of the problem, it doesn't recognize the math problem but if I manually enter the problem it is able to solve it.

3. It always says "No math found" , which really sucks because sometimes I dont know how to input the information myself or solve the problem, leaving me stuck on the question trying every option I have.

4. They changed the photo feature where now you have to crop a photo of a problem WHILE taking a photo with shaky hands instead of taking a photo and then cropping 1 problem out.

5. It's so easy to take a pic (or type) and then choose how to solve it, which is my favorite feature because her teacher wants her to show her work using multiple methods so it was great getting to choose what method to use.

6. (FYI answers are free, showing steps paid)Since the new update, I do appreciate the easier camera cropping function and new better keyboard, but the whole chat style UI it used to have was SO much better.

7. My only complaints are (1)the website said I'd get a 1 week free trial if I got the app and I didn't get the free trial (2) it doesn't solve story problems.

8. It's like any other photo math app that doesn't really work too well now.

9. The photo feature changed, so you can no longer crop out the questions on the page after taking the photo.

10. The app is still great aside from that, but holding a camera steady while trying to crop a problem is nuts.

1. Fix Mathway Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Mathway: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Mathway App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Mathway" » Open Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Mathway » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Mathway servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Mathway app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Mathway might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Mathway. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Mathway then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Mathway not working

2. Fix Mathway Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Mathway be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Mathway not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Mathway may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
