1. When you choose to migrate your data, your new iPhone or iPad will create a private Wi-Fi network and find your nearby Android device running Move to iOS.
2. With just a few steps, you can migrate your content automatically and securely from your Android device with the Move to iOS app.
3. After you enter a security code, it will begin transferring your content and put it in the right places. Just like that.
4. Once your content has been transferred, you’re ready to get going.
5. No need to save your stuff elsewhere before switching from Android.
6. Make sure to keep your devices nearby and connected to power until the transfer is complete.
7. That includes switching to it.
8. Everything about iOS is designed to be easy.
9. That’s it — you can start using your new iPhone or iPad and experiencing its endless possibilities. Enjoy.
1. Perhaps their thought was that a user might accidentally yank out the cable in the middle of the transfer and have to start the process over again - which might be fine IF their Wi-Fi transferring worked.
2. Hope they fix the Wi-Fi issues and add a cable transfer method, because this is an awful way to introduce people to the iPhone ecosystem, and I imagine it'll drive away many people who can't figure out alternate ways to transfer data. This app is terrible.
3. This is my first iPhone ever and this nightmare of a transfer process has made me seriously question my decision to switch to iOS.The app works perfect if you want to transfer apps, settings, accounts.
4. * Even though this doesn't work the first time, there is no mention of what happens if you want to only transfer messages only.
5. What the creaters could probably easily do is allow transfer of small amounts of data at a time, so when it inevitably fails, you can pick back up where you left off--whether it be transferring photos, contacts, etc.
6. So you might want to try to migrate your messages only and then use the other apps to transfer photos, etc.
7. My guess is that you then have to use other apps to transfer Photos, Music, Device contacts, etc.
8. It's awful, and I hate that this is the only free way to transfer text messages from an Android phone.
9. I turned on airplane mode in the beginning, and the whole process took about 40 minutes to transfer my messages, contacts, and photos.
10. If you don't need to migrate your messages, there are other apps to transfer contacts, photos, and other items.
11. If your android is not connected to the network from the iPhone, the transfer won't work.It worked for me.
