About Ampath

1. The Ampath app displays your personal Ampath pathology test results as soon as they are available.

2. You need your South African ID number or a valid passport number to register.

3. You also need to verify your mobile number to complete the app registration process.

4. The app can also provide notifications once new test results become available.

Ampath Customer Insights

1. First it had a problem with verifying my ID, then it kept telling me my password was not long enough(even though it was way more digits than the minimum required).

2. I try and reset password and instead it locks me out for 15min each time I press forgot password to try create new one.

3. Tells me to change my password I did but then apparently my email and cellphone don't match.

4. I try to log in again and it still asks me to change my password and I can't use the password I just reset it to because apparently that's my current password.

5. I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt and try to reinstall it, until I read the ratings from other users too, and they seem to have the same problem.

6. This then doesnt allow the results to automatically come through.Customer- friendly, proficient and professional.Unfortunately I can only rate the app a 1,because it doesn't work at all.

7. No problem opening the app but unable to access my latest result.

8. Only issue would be the default option allowing doctors to select for only them to get the results and they will contact you.

9. So why am I being asked to change it a minute later ??? I have never changed anything on this app or my account for that matter.

10. Cannot access any other way.This is worst than the first version.

11. Keeps telling me there's "no internet connection." If I close the app and re-open, the same recurring message!! Looks like the page is frozen.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Ampath Issues

1. Fix Ampath Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Ampath: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Ampath App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Ampath" » Open Ampath » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Ampath » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Ampath app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Ampath servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Ampath" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Ampath app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Ampath might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Ampath. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Ampath then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Ampath not working


2. Fix Ampath Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Ampath be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Ampath not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Ampath may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
