1. With that, you get control over the pattern and theres tons of modifiers and the neat thing is it controls other synth apps, its called a virtual midi controller, and i dont see why the heck they cant do ANY of that on here!!! Anyway the one on ios is one of the best musical innovations ive ever seen.Brilliant app, it would awesome if there is an option to change the lines above and below to be "single" note movements so you can play all "jazz notes" too and easily switch key, I think this is more useful than "changing tempo" which i find quite jarringNot really for making music so much as screwing around, but it is fun.
2. If you DON'T know any instruments, play with someone who does, and be simple-- rock/blues/country(Johnny Cash is perfect) use a simple progression called 1-4-5 so grab a guitarist (or anyone) and jam simple song example:"Wild Thing" (key of A)Choose A as the key, default as the type, count 1, up 4, then 5.
3. The two things I would add are different instrument sounds and the ability to play multiple arpeggios at once. The idea is very, very clever, and all the of the mechanics are very anticipating.
4. Should really come with a more obvious warning. If you know how ta play an instrument, ANY instrument, then you'll LOVE this! The trick is to find out what key the song/jam is to use as the starting point&watch ur rhythm.
5. I just started using this and am liking it a lot! I keep considering getting a travel instrument since, even though phone apps are more portable, the tactile feedback isn't there in the simulations.
6. I'm not sure why, but this feels more like playing a real instrument than the apps that simulate other instruments.
7. I would love to be able to record and edit the MIDI output, I'm sure others would love to chip in and make use of Arpio in their studio aswell.
8. I might like to be able to adjust the size of the triggers for the sake of easy accuracy and have the ability to record a brief passage, but that would be well over and above expectation.
9. Nice to see some pioneering of new frontiers and possibilities in digital musicianship and controllerism!Initially I was angry about the app being free and you have to buy stuff to improve (vastly in some areas) the functionality.
10. So unless you're willing to subscribe, this app is just, cheeseLovely, innovative implementation of an elegant concept effectively expanded and put to the unique characteristics that the touchscreen device offers.
11. An echo/delay effect would be wonderful! All of which, I would cheerful pay a good chunk of change for So, it's good - very easy way to summon inspiration.
