eCanvas Customer Insights

1. This is particularly annoying if you're trying to cross stitch a geometric pattern.good app, but I found that the patterns created from photos come out darker than the originals.

2. If I want to try 30, 50, and 70 colors I need to create the canvas 3 times because pre-save pic is too small to see details.It is a very useful app, and I am considering buying the pro version.

3. The only thing I could not solve is to remove the background from the imported pattern from Pattern Maker, a simple pattern with words results in a full coverage with white.

4. What a rip off!!!! I want my money back!! 😡This app is excellent! I crochet regularly and use this app to make image patterns.

5. I have made five large blankets and innumerable smaller items with this app and highly recommend buying the premium version as you can edit.

6. My only question is can you print out the patterns you created? I work better with a printed pattern.

7. Also some DMC colors need to be fixed: 3882 is no longer available; 407 and 3772 are in reality exactly the same colorwhile in the app are different shades.

8. Once I have an image, I crochet it into a square by counting and changing colors.

9. I'd love to be able to crop the size and move larger sections of design around.

10. It would've been nice to have a couple free trial to play around with creating my own designs.

11. I enjoy using this to make my own designs, but that often means I don't know the final size and placement of things until I'm done.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix eCanvas Issues

1. Fix eCanvas Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart eCanvas: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the eCanvas App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "eCanvas" » Open eCanvas for cross-stitch » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for eCanvas » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear eCanvas for cross-stitch app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from eCanvas servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "eCanvas for cross-stitch" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check eCanvas app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, eCanvas might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall eCanvas. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall eCanvas then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing eCanvas not working


2. Fix eCanvas Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make eCanvas be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to eCanvas not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, eCanvas may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
