1. The PRONTO app can also help you plan trips, see real-time arrivals, get service statuses, save favorite stations, and find stops for San Diego County area transit so you can plan your trip around San Diego without any problems.
2. Likewise, you will never be charged more than a Month Pass ($72 Adult or $23 Reduced Fare) regardless of the number of trips in a calendar month.
3. Add money to your PRONTO app, then scan your phone at the validator each trip you make.
4. You will never be charged more than a Day Pass ($6 Adult or $3 Reduced Fare) in a given calendar day, regardless of how many trips you make.
5. With PRONTO, you can pay-as-you-go* by adding money to your PRONTO account with a credit or debit card.
6. When using the app, hold your phone 5 to 6 inches below the validator to scan your barcode.
7. PRONTO makes buying fares for MTS and NCTD easier than ever.
8. Every time you scan your app, the appropriate one-way fare is deducted from your balance.
9. Look for validators at Trolley, SPRINTER and COASTER stations, and onboard buses.
10. Our pay-as-you-go function means you always get the best fare!
11. You can track your progress toward a Day or Month Pass in the PRONTO app. *Pay-as-you go features not available for COASTER (must prepay for Day or Month Pass).
1. My other issue is that the scanning of the pass by conductors is sporadic and sometimes it deducts money and other times it doesn't after being scanned. This looks great so far! (First off, for those having trouble with the account verification, try signing up through the Pronto website instead! Worked great for me.) The app is nicely organized with your virtual card the first thing that pops up upon opening, making for easy scanning when the service starts up! Everything loads up quickly.
2. Then place a physical shelf at the correct distance so all riders have to do is place their phone down without worrying about angle or distance.A convenient trip planner and payment method for San Diego transit.
3. In an ideal world maybe the scanning takes half a second and boarding wouldn't take an eternity but with everyone fiddling for the scanner's sweet spot it takes too long.
4. I think implementation of NFC (support for gpay/applepay?) which is already used for the cards would make it a smoother experience.Amazing. Buying passes is easy, and scanning is easy once you have tried one time.
5. However very recently I've been having trouble getting the qr code to scan properly to the point where I have been consistently getting no response.
6. Even the 'Nearby' feature on the 'Next Departure' page loads fast! This is definitely an upgrade from Compass.I've been using this app for the college commute and for the most part it had been fine.
7. Trip planner's "best" route is unreliable for proximity to addresses.Still learning about the app, but it has room for improvement.
8. If I have three errands to run in one area and it takes the whole transfer window I then have to pay again go to the next destination and then miss the window again.
9. It let me plan a trip just as normal, but once I arrived to the station by bus, signs said that there would be no service for the entire two days.
10. Next departure search brings up an unordered list of every MTS stop without context for which route it's on.
11. The app is useless if I have to interrogate the website every time I buy a pass.Useful for paying for trips.
