Speaking Email Customer Insights

1. Has some features on by default that I find annoying (scrub scrolling, reading time/date/sender, not reading in background, stopping every 5 seconds) and lacks features that I would have assumed to have been vital (highlighting text being read, controlling which part is being read by clicking text).App seems a great idea but when I installed it, logged in and pressed play latest, it didn't actually read me anything Update: text to speech worked fine on my new phone but I've decided to delete it.

2. You have to purchase premium to be able to delete emails by voice and you have to keep repeating the voice commands.My new Mazda CX-30 doesn't read out Emails, so I installed Speaking Email on my Samsung.

The app itself is simple to use and has a host of preference features, allowing the user to easily customize his or her experience.Worked great for a while., but now it pauses for 5 to 10 seconds between EVERY SENTENCE! It will say the title, long pause, who from, long pause, read one sentence, long pause, another sentence, long pause, and on and on.

4. (I will change my review to 5 stars when it is fixed.) I will say the team answered me right back when I sent in the bug report and promise to work on it soon -- very responsive! The bug: There is this really nice feature that you can adjust the behaviors of the various actions (like archive) to do things like include a special label.

11. When listening to radio, constantly cutting out when checking email, would be improvement if check was done in background & then radio silenced when email actually received rather than constantly.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Speaking Email Issues

1. Fix Speaking Email Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Speaking Email: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Speaking Email App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Speaking Email" » Open Speaking Email - voice reader » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Speaking Email » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Speaking Email - voice reader app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Speaking Email servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Speaking Email - voice reader " » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Speaking Email app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Speaking Email might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Speaking Email. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Speaking Email then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Speaking Email not working


2. Fix Speaking Email Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Speaking Email be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Speaking Email not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Speaking Email may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
