1. Automatic display mode matching to video frame rate for Nvidia Shield TV.
2. Additionally allows set app startup display mode, manual mode switching via OSD and HDMI CEC remote support.
1. But I'm sure it'll get there.. Make a paid version and we'll support this.. keep it up..Thank goodness for this amazing app! After running Nvidia Shield TV on a 10-year old TV that worked just fine, I upgraded to a 2021 Vizio P-Series Quantum X TV, and I got all kinds of micro judders because of frame rate mismatches between video content and the TV (most US shows with 23.976 fps, but some European shows like Peaky Blinders with 25 fps, and the Shield TV defaulting to 60fps).
2. Few minor things like having to set Netflix to 23.967 in order to avoid the videos starting with lagged video and the fact HDCP fails on Amazon so have to click the video again to play, but it's pretty minor compared to the upside of having the right refresh rate for the videos (and means by TV automatically seems to switch to the HDR profile too).
3. I don't think it's a bug with this app, but something in the copy protection in iPlayer.Unexpected benefit of having this app on the NVidia Shield is that it also allows you to program a couple more remote commands.
4. It is especially useful in the Netflix app, which has content that plays in 23.976 fps, 24 fps, 25 fps, and 29.97 fps.successfully reproduced the "home" button feature of my Shield on my universal IR remote which controls the Shield via TV's CEC.
5. NVIDIA should really work on making this a native feature of the SHIELD experience when they get around to updating it to android 11, then hopefully this app won't be needed.
6. Great work! This is a must have app (period).! I'm so happy someone took the time to develop it and accomplished something that Nvidia's been ignoring so many years.
7. I recently upgraded to a Vizio PQX TV and it does not handle judder well at all when it's 24Hz content VIA 60Hz from the shield, I would have had to stop using the shield or return the TV and get different one that handles this better.
8. If I want to watch the program I'll brute force it, sometimes I give up.Accidentally set an app shortcut for the down button on the remote control, now the app shortcut won't clear and it won't stop launching Disney+ every time I hit the down button.
9. Having to manually adjust the frame rate settings in the Shield TV would be nuts.
10. I tried Nvidia's beta feature for framerate matching and it doesn't work.
11. But not now, I'm glad someone took the time to make this app.Saves you the hassle of having to manually change the display settings.
