Kami Home Customer Insights

1. The X to close this useless popup appears directly overtop the full size icon, so guess what happens if my fingers a hair off...ANNOYING!!! Also, PLEASE make the video image default to show ALL of it vs being forced to zoom out EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMM TIME!! I've been asking for years!! Make these optional if you refuse to keep them.

2. I wish I had never bought kami cameras.Cameras are great, terrible review, motion detection, loading, using data notification...pretty much the entire app.

3. And wouldn't it be nice, and useful, if a camera, full screen with audio, could be be set to open with the app?I love the cameras and the price, but the software needs a lot of work.

I like the 15 second rewind and fast forward that's been recently added but I'm hoping there will be more features like that soon, such as pause, flagging specific points on the timeline to go back to later without having to download, and see the time while the clip is playing.This app totally sucks.

5. I've stopped recommending these cameras due to the appIts a really great app, and the camera's night vision is much better than expected.

6. Even with sensitivity set to low and the watched area in the camera set to a small specific area where a person might walk, it gives tons of alerts that are just rain, dust, snow, or a cat (not a person).

7. I know I'm using it, don't make me hit an impossible to select "x" every time.Disappointing. Loved it when I got it last year but the changes you made were the wrong ones.

8. After a camera alert happens, the app keeps popping up notifications on my phone over and over and over again, even though I have already clicked on the first notification and seen the camera clip for the notification.

9. Truly just an all around terrible product.My husband and I have been using the kami for over a year as a baby monitor for our nursery.

10. Camera only records a quarter of the time.

11. Timeline dissappears almost every time while trying to review footage.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Kami Home Issues

1. Fix Kami Home Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Kami Home: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Kami Home App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Kami Home" » Open Kami Home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Kami Home » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Kami Home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Kami Home servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Kami Home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Kami Home app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Kami Home might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Kami Home. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Kami Home then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Kami Home not working


2. Fix Kami Home Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Kami Home be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Kami Home not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Kami Home may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
