1. This is the whole reason I bought this device so if this doesn't get fixed soon I might have to look at Synology.This app would definitely be better if it showed all the files on your phone and back them up everything from PDFs to documents and even things that you download currently you can only see pictures and videos in the app unless you manually upload said documents.

2. Sync and auto backup for folders and files is a must for any NASJust figured out the app stopped working after this last update.

3. I cannot even send a crash report.6/2/23. Most recent update does not recognize video files on my mobile device therefore they do not get synced to my cloud.

4. The app does not allow you to name the destination folder into which the files are backed up on the NAS drive.I initially had problems with the upgrade on my WD cloud drive, but now everything is working good.

10. My only issue is I have been getting notifications from my system monitor on my phone, I have a Samsung Galaxy A71 with Android 11 that the WD Cloud app keeps crashing.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix My Cloud OS 5 Issues

1. Fix My Cloud OS 5 Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart My Cloud OS 5: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the My Cloud OS 5 App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "My Cloud OS 5" » Open My Cloud OS 5 » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for My Cloud OS 5 » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear My Cloud OS 5 app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from My Cloud OS 5 servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "My Cloud OS 5" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check My Cloud OS 5 app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, My Cloud OS 5 might not work.
