Family Money Customer Insights

1. Get greenlight money app instead! Due to that, you'll have to deposit a lot of money at once instead of here and there when they do chores since it takes over 5 days for your money to deposit and able to use.Walmart has their BLUEBIRD AMEX & as long as you refill it at Walmart there's no fee to load the card nor monthly service fee & the money is avail IMMEDIATELY.

2. Parents write chores,and as kid do it they check it off and send photos of what they have accomplished.Do not use terrible experience!!!!! It takes almost a week to transfer money from your bank account and then they only have access for one parent.

3. I'm able to lock my sons card, set spending limits etc on it & w it I keep the main card so I can reload the secondary card that's in his own name as needed.Customer service is horrible.

4. App looks nice and appears easy to setup, but takes way too long to load money into the account.

5. I would love if you can allow more adults/parents like mom dad grandma grandpa and each adult can link their bank account to add money.

6. Unhelpful and still no card and I may get a refund now for the money I already transferred over.Horrible experience so far.

7. I can't move money from my child's vault to their card for them.

8. It took a long time for money to show up in the pre-paid account.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Family Money Issues

1. Fix Family Money Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Family Money: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Family Money App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Family Money" » Open Family Money » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Family Money » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Family Money app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Family Money servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Family Money" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Family Money app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Family Money might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Family Money. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Family Money then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Family Money not working


2. Fix Family Money Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Family Money be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Family Money not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Family Money may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
