Why should I report an Issue with Hangouts?

1. Others say it's unhelpful, sure, it might not work without internet connection, but it can work from long distances, I live in the USA, and call a friend from Australia, and being honest, the quality of the call is perfect!! Sharing images and videos is easy as heck, and you can use the app for communicating with lots of people, heck- it even has a friend group chat option.

2. Would be nice to have more personalization options such as themes, color, font, and notification tones... on other devices I was able to select different notifications for different people and I love having that option... but I have not been able to locate it on this device.

3. It's like it tries to open, with the screen attempting to pop up, but immediately closes back down, with the screen minimizing out because it keeps "stopping." Please fix it, and I'll happily change my review 🙏This app is very useful, but it mostly depends on the device it's downloaded in, it's pretty slow in some devices and pretty fast in others, it also depends on the connection of your own wifi connection.

4. Recommend using phone voicemail app to check voicemail (if you want privacy).Used to love this app as my main way of communicating with my husband, we have been using it since it first launched.

5. Why update the app if it's going to be for the worst? There is a super weird thing that happens when you type a message to someone -- as you type the person's face shows up as highlighted at the bottom, as if the person is on and can see the message.

6. Can you please add a night themed option as well as the option to change the color scheme and text bubbles???? It would be so beneficial!!!!!!!Not a good app for listening to voicemail.

7. Having the face appear highlighted even though the person is not there implies that the person sees the message thereby creating unnecessary confusion if they have not.

8. Love being able to text, call and video chat in one app.

9. Another feature I enjoy is being able to look at your text on your computer in your Gmail and on your phone at the same time.

10. You can present, you have a chat box, it's just greatI love this app I have a phone without a phone line connected to it and use this to text my friends.

1. Fix Hangouts Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Hangouts: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Hangouts App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Hangouts" » Open Hangouts » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Hangouts » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Hangouts app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Hangouts servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Hangouts" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Hangouts app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Hangouts might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Hangouts. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Hangouts then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Hangouts not working

2. Fix Hangouts Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Hangouts be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Hangouts not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Hangouts may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
