1. I feel it would be more secure.I love this app and banking account!! I don't need any minimum balance, no hidden fees, added savings account at no extra charge and excepted anywhere Visa cards are! On the downside you have to pay $3.95 to add money to your account without direct deposit and the minimum you can load is $20; but to me it's still worth getting!! The app even has a map of places near you that reload your account, worth any annoying flaws! You can even have it as a backup if having problems with a physical bank!I like to say my overall experience has been great! I do however have a few suggestions.

2. This is hardly something to consider in a bank account, though!The app is very user friendly, love it! I also love the fee-free overdraft protection and the Save Your Change feature, in which you can chose to automatically round up to the nearest dollar when making a purchase and it goes directly into your savings.

3. It also lets you switch money between your checking and savings account very easily! I used to get my paycheck deposited on Friday, but now with the early deposit feature it goes in every Tuesday evening.

4. I recommend 100%!! Fast forward to almost a year later, this bank is one of the worst out there, they literally closed my account with over 2k in it, no email, letter or call was sent out to let me know about the status of my account, I found out the hard way when my card kept getting declined knowing I had money in it.

5. The most hassle-free checking ever!I love Varo! I originally had an account with Chime but I don't even use it anymore — I even deactivated my card! I don't have any complaints about the mobile app experience, banking service, etc.

6. The app provides instant notifications when $ is deposited or debited, keeping me well-informed about my checking account, which also includes a free, no-minimum savings account w/ no-fee transfers.Great app!! Have had it now for 2-3 months never had any issues.

7. 2 direct deposits and use your debit card account often and you get an almost 3% APY on your savings! This is why I switched.

8. It will round up to the nearest dollar and the change goes right into yourhighly savings account.

9. They also offer an optional savings account that earns interest, with a really cool automated way to help you save.

10. After years of struggling with banks that have poor, non-user friendly apps and unexceptional customer service, I have finally found a bank that is straight to the point with a user friends UI.

11. They said they would send my money via check in 7-14 days, this was late July of 2020, it's now OCTOBER, NOCHECKThis is by far, hands down, the best prepaid debit card out there.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Varo Issues

1. Fix Varo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Varo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Varo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Varo" » Open Varo: Save money with a mobile bank account » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Varo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Varo: Save money with a mobile bank account app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Varo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Varo: Save money with a mobile bank account" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Varo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Varo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Varo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Varo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Varo not working


2. Fix Varo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Varo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Varo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Varo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • My varo money (old) online banking has my bill money in it and it is declining any transaction I try to make. The app isn't notifying me and alerts aren't working anymore. Also, the fee free over draft was turned on and it declined me to use it.
