About Upgrade

1. Share your feedback at mobile_app_feedback@upgrade. 1: Rewards Checking Plus customers who set up monthly direct deposits ( ) of $1,000 or more earn 2% cash back on common everyday expenses at convenience stores, drugstores, restaurants and bars - including deliveries - and gas stations, as well as recurring payments on utilities and monthly subscriptions including phone, cable, TV and other streaming services, and 1% cash back on all other debit card purchases. 2% cash back is limited to $500 in rewards per calendar year; after $500, customers earn 1% cash back on all eligible debit card purchases for the remainder of the year.

Upgrade Customer Insights

1. If you are thinking about this card, walk away and don't regret doing so.I would be careful before opening a loan or credit line, the way the do the payment arrangement makes it difficult to pay down the loan or credit line early, almost like they want you to take a long time to pay your balance so they can keep charging you all that interest which is super high.

2. Any attempts to make smaller payments as often as you want to bring the balance down is pretty much impossible... whatever additional payments have to be higher than the monthly payment due, on auto payI like the company but the app and it's mobile services are definitely lacking.

3. I have had the card for 3 years and every time I get my balance down by about $500, they lower the credit limit so it dings my credit for having a maxed out card.

4. When they do answer the phone, they pretend they can't hear you (or they really do have a problem, but it's on their end) maybe they are really just having technical difficulties, but the whole experience has been a downgrade.I have a line of credit and had a loan.

5. I just realized the loan payments just stopped being withdrawn and was charged off which has dropped my credit score 100 pts.

6. This app will not allow any payment less than the minimum amount due at a time, and STILL does the automatic deduction of the billed amount, even if you paid the full amount a 2 or 3 days earlier.

7. Seems to block your attempts to pay off the balance, dragging down your credit score and racking up interest.

8. I have excellent payment history with them and they are my only account that never lets you get ahead to build credit.

9. I've made 2 purchases with my card and have had no problems with the autopay feature or when I've put an extra amount towards my balance.

10. I probably won't use them again, unless they fix this flaw.I applied for a line of credit and a loan.

11. Upgrade needs to figure out how to allow payments less than the minimum amount like othersNot a bad company.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Upgrade Issues

1. Fix Upgrade Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Upgrade: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Upgrade App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Upgrade" » Open Upgrade » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Upgrade » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Upgrade app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Upgrade servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Upgrade" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Upgrade app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Upgrade might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Upgrade. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Upgrade then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Upgrade not working


2. Fix Upgrade Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Upgrade be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Upgrade not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Upgrade may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
