1. Its simple user interface makes it easy to operate for seniors and people with poor vision (or both). - adjust speed: slow down playback for those hard of hearing.
2. With this mode enabled the user cannot exit the application so they don't need to know how to use a tablet.
3. Perfect for building a dedicated audiobook player for your grandparents.
4. Homer Player is an audiobook player for the elderly.
5. Let me know if you need help, like the app or hate it.
1. A solution would be to have a kiosk mode where the settings can only be changed using adb.I set up an under $50 Android tablet to the dedicated Kiosk Homer Player.
2. I am amazed that so little is available for elderly visually impaired people, who happen to be prolific readers. This app works perfectly for my mother who is 95 years old, never used a computer or a mobile phone.
3. Maybe an option to speed it up the further right/left the finger goes.I have tried a number of options for my 90 year old mother who is severely sight impaired including audible from amazon.
4. I am forever grateful for the Homer Player App.This app has been a god send for my 94 year old, almost blind mother.
5. Thank you thank you thank you!Since my mother's eyesight became worse, she regularly exits the kiosk mode and the app without realizing she has done it.
6. I'll bet this app actually saves lives by reducing driver distractions.I'm using this in my classroom for an audiobook station- using donated old phones.
7. Hearing familiar voices and old stories helped fill her final years with comfort.
8. I initially had a few issues with installing and configuring the app but the developer in Poland helped me through the whole process.
9. I can only reinstall.Nice and easy to use, but it needs a repeat play option.
10. It turns any tablet into a dedicated audiobooks player.
11. This is the only audiobook player I have found that my grandfather can actually use and I'm very grateful for it.
