1. Basically, go into savings goal, hit "time to buy" button, and now when you swipe your card, for that purchase only, it takes from that instead of the spend pocketApp is great and has built my credit score sky high!! The only issue I have with it is there's a bug that won't let me change my profile photo.

2. It prompts me to give it access to my media and files as if it doesn't already have permission, when I know for a fact, and have checked that it does.I've been using the Step Banking app for a little over 2 years now but there are 2 flaws that have been annoying me ever since.

3. It tells me to grant permission from Step to access my gallery, and I allowed access, and every time I click to upload a photo, it says I need to grant permission, even though I already did.

4. The step apps first flaw is that I have noticed a lot of latency (at least for Android) an example is when you are pressing buttons like the "add money" in your savings.

5. I get trying to minimize support costs, but this is not a game it is meant to handle money... STEP contacted me and explained what was needed.

6. If it helps, my model is the Motorola G power (2022)Seems good so far! 2 changes I would make: don't default to entering a dependant, and Make it so that savings goals can be connected directly to your card for 1-time purchases.

7. It's so simple transferring money, adding money, paying friends ect.. it's pretty cool you can have your own account along with your teens account and you can watch what they spend, set up weekly allowances.

8. The only thing missing that would make this PERFECT is the ability to deposit checks.Great app to start, so easy to transfer money to my kids when they needed a little extra while out and about.

9. There is no obvious way to contact Step, leaving me in a frustrating position with my child whom I cannot send money to.

10. After loading money in numerous times with a particular debit card, it has stopped working.

11. I don't like that it's only a credit card but that's it.Sometimes apps are confusingly set up, but since this is made for literal children, it's all very simple and easy to use, and this 20-year-old likes that.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Step Issues

1. Fix Step Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Step: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Step App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Step" » Open Step: Bank & Build Credit » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Step » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Step: Bank & Build Credit app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Step servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Step: Bank & Build Credit" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Step app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Step might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Step. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Step then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Step not working


2. Fix Step Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Step be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Step not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Step may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

Teen is 17 and cannot figure out how to access/use the $250 funds I sent him via Step app. There’s currently $250 in “limbo,” parked on the STEP App via my iphone, that I sent him, that he won’t be accessing I sent him a request to return my $250; he can’t send it back to me either! Could Step please return the “UNSPENT” & “UNACCEPTED” $250 back to my linked debit account, please and thank you for your assistance! Kim Smith 850-481-5728

My teen sponsors account is locked, I can’t contact anyone, I’ve tried multiple times with no success in resolving my issue, and I would like to transfer my teen sponsers funds and close the account
