City Taxis Customer Insights

1. Never again!Booked a taxi 14+hrs in advance for a school/work drop off, stood watching as a driver accepted the booking, 2 minutes later they cancelled it, same exact thing happened again 10 minutes AFTER the booking time so I had 2 drivers pick up and cancel my job that I'd pre booked on this "priority" app.

2. Thank you!1- defaults to your actual location for s pick-up point (understandably) but sometimes won't let you change it... as desired if you want to order/pay for a taxi to pick up someone else from a different location; 2 - clock face "hands" used to select the pick up time sometimes do not recognise that you're trying to enter 1pm instead of 1am and it gets stuck.

3. The listing is portrait mode (the app disables autorotate) and doesn't display destination, and if the booking entry is selected to check the details the app CHANGES THE PICKUP TIME.

4. The realibilty of City has declined massively over the past couple of months, and while I find most of the drivers to be awesome, it's almost impossible to get a taxi when you need one, therefore I can't bring myself to give a higher rating than 1 star.Infuriatingly bad.

5. Trying to do that by telephone booking (which is otherwise highly efficient) is a nightmare.It's been excellent when I've been able to use it and convenient, though drivers don't always get notes on locations.

6. Search doesn't find destination unless you know the full postal address, suggests stupid options miles out of your way.

7. The booking time changes to near future and returns the error message "selected time is in the past".

8. The taxi driver rings in advance, hence waiting outside in the dark.

9. Just for this alone, I cannot recommend it at all.Booked a taxi 24 hours in advance using the AI.

10. Other than that, nothing else that is negative... besides most of the drivers are a damn nightmare.Pre-book doesn't work anymore.

11. Departure point dances around even if you enter it manually (if you have poor gps signal), If your phone gets a notification while you're using the app, it crashes and you have to start again.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix City Taxis Issues

1. Fix City Taxis Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart City Taxis: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the City Taxis App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "City Taxis" » Open City Taxis » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for City Taxis » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear City Taxis app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from City Taxis servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "City Taxis" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check City Taxis app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, City Taxis might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall City Taxis. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall City Taxis then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing City Taxis not working


2. Fix City Taxis Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make City Taxis be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to City Taxis not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, City Taxis may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
