1. The SALUS iT500 Smartphone controlled thermostat gives you the freedom to control your heating at anytime from anywhere. • Choose from three preset heating schedules for quick set up or create your own. • Hot water scheduling with three on/off times and up to 3 hours boost function. • Simple to add heating schedules.
2. Choose from ALL, 5/2 or INDIVIDUAL days. • Geo-location alerts when you are a set distance from your home, reminding you to set holiday mode or asking if you would like to turn the heating on so that you return to a warm home. • With easy to follow walk through tutorials on how to use the App.
1. Also, has something been messed up in a recent update? The fire symbol no longer lights up when the system is on and when you set to schedule the temperature display is wrong; it still works, but the display on the app seems to be wrong.App wasn't particularly intuitive to use but it worked.
2. Additionally, there is no "30-minute boost" feature, meaning that on a particularly cold day you would need to either switch it on to manual, and hopefully remember to turn it back, or change the schedule, and hopefully remember to turn that back to normal.Maybe I'm late to the party here and so have not had the 'update issues', but this version seems great.
3. You need to re-enter the new settings every single time until the unit will reconnect and app will manage to push your new timings. The app is okay, I do have a few issues with it - please add a + and - button to set the temperature because dragging the circle around is inaccurate.
4. When I don't need it, the system seems incapable of switching itself off when it reaches the desired temperature and ends up running continuously so you wake up sweltering at 2am.
5. It's worked every time perfectly, and when I set the temperature, it updates the thermostat (which lets face it, is all you want it to do) and then reverts back to the schedule temperature at the next 'time phase', or whatever they call it.
6. Update: adding 1 star because they added a refresh button and confirmation if the device actually accepted the request or not .It seems okay but when you switch it between schedule/manual/off it frequently appears to make the change but in fact doesn't.
7. what would make it perfect would be, in addition to the 3 schedule modes (all; 5/2; individual) if it had a "boost" mode allowing the heating to be switched on immediately for a chosen period of say 1,2 or 3 hours and then automatically go off again.
8. Then you come back from two weeks away and find your house has been at 21C constantly during your entire absence while energy prices are at a record high - thanks Salus(!) I switched it off when I got back and checked 30 minutes later to find it was STILL on.
9. If you set up new schedules/temperatures and the thermostat is not connected to wifi you will get a "Request Failed" message and all new settings will be lost by the app and you'll have to manually re-enter the settings again.
10. Setting up the schedule on the app is much easier than traditional thermostats!Very hit and (mostly) miss; you seem to have to tell it to turn on/off several times before it actually happens.
11. I have also not fixed the programmer to the wall, so i can hide it from my teenage kids so they can't interfere with the settings, safe in the knowledge i can use the app!!It just about does the barest minimum.
