1. Between the choppy video or no video at all the sound quality isn't greatThe way this app doesn't connect to the camera most of the time and the extremely choppy video is amazing.

2. if you buy harbor freight cobra cameras just plan on using them stand alone with no remote viewing capabilities.Phone never has connection with the camera system, if I'm at home I can use the app, mainly on wifi even then.

3. When the motion detector picks up something and starts recording, the app will give you a notification so you can click it and watch the recording, but when you go to the app NOTHING IS THERE!!!! You can be standing beside the monitor and wifi router and still not get a connection.

4. Same issue as the rest of the users, notifications get received but when trying to open the app to view it says connection exception or offline then just stays on connecting until I finally give up.

5. Beware you might miss footage!I've had this app for 1 week and does not show recording most of the time but the monitor shows all my recordings.

6. It's doesn't save changes for example... you can't change medium setting to low setting,tried several times but as soon as you save changes and you back out of the app and go back in it shows medium setting again and you can't delete clips that are no longer needed.

7. Even if u take the time to watch the event, if u need to see a section of it again, u have to watch the entire clip.

8. The issue which I experience the most now is when reviewing footage sometimes you need to review it several times because it skips part of the recording.

9. I know it's not my connection/signal since I'm literally right by the box and have perfect connection/signal.Sound only, no video if it even connects to the system.

10. i know it is not the app or phones, as several people lose access at the same time so the issue is with the servers.

11. Also events r listed oldest to newest so to look at the most recent video events, u have to scroll all the way to the bottom.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix MyCam View Issues

1. Fix MyCam View Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart MyCam View: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the MyCam View App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "MyCam View" » Open MyCam View » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for MyCam View » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear MyCam View app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from MyCam View servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "MyCam View" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check MyCam View app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, MyCam View might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall MyCam View. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall MyCam View then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing MyCam View not working


2. Fix MyCam View Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make MyCam View be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to MyCam View not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, MyCam View may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Can not view events. I’m notified that there are events but when I click on event list there isn’t anything there.

  • MyView Cam app will not connect when I’m away from home to view my camera. It’s a completely new system and has never worked. My IP address is the same on both the monitor and the app. When I open the app and click on camera 1 it just spins for several minutes never loading. I can see where there are recordings on the app but again those will not play when I’m not at home.
