1. Claimed the "Credit Market Changed" switched me from a non fee card to a card w $8 a mo fee!! That's after being a reliable customer for over 2 years!! I opted out and as a result they will take any cash back rewards you have!! I reinstated my acct to use up my benefits and then I'll cancel.

2. Canceled my account immediately after applying for, and being approved for, another card that has better benefits and no fees.

3. 0/10 do not recommend.Total scam, have great credit and now they want to change my account to one that charges fees.

4. BE CAREFUL! They will randomly switch your account over and impose fees, with your only options being to deal with it or opt out entirely (i.e. closing your acc, irradiating a line of credit).

5. Now my apr is higher, I'm forced to pay $8 a month, late fees, and more!Petal 2 experience was great, I was able to salvage my credit from a dumb decision made when I was young & now have great credit.

6. Plus they're now forcing grandfathered customers to either close account or pay up (for a credit card that most definitely isn't premium).

7. All in all, this is a horrible place to get a card from, value is terrible, and good luck trying to have them back you up if you ever have to dispute any charges.Bait and Switch.

8. There's no explanation for mobility out of this and they can change my limit at will 👎Worst credit card I've ever had.

9. Then without warning they decided to tell me my card was changing and that they would start charging me a monthly fee and a fee per transaction.

10. I also had trouble using the card at many retailers and had transactions declined for no reason at establishments I had previously been able to use it at.

11. My initial account had no monthly fees, a grace period for payments, and virtually no limitations on what I could buy.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Petal Issues

1. Fix Petal Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Petal: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Petal App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Petal" » Open Petal » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Petal » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Petal app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Petal servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Petal" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Petal app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Petal might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Petal. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Petal then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Petal not working


2. Fix Petal Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Petal be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Petal not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Petal may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
