1. You can borrow them — for free, instantly — with a library card and Libby: the award-winning, much-loved app for libraries. • Send ebooks to your Kindle (U. S.
2. All over the world, local libraries offer millions of ebooks and audiobooks.
3. Libby is built by the team at OverDrive, in support of local libraries everywhere.
1. The digital libraries are an amazing resource - if only we can get a high quality user experience to match the quality of the library content.Great app! I've borrowed almost 100 books and have listened to 100s of hours of audiobooks without paying any fees.
2. I take any flaws in this app in stride, though, because the savings of not buying books, and instead being able to digitally hold and order library books is really worth it.Confusing, busy user interface that varies with context and filled with unnecessary distractions.
3. TLDR: You can't go wrong trying it out!Libby browsing library books extremely easy, and is a definite upgrade from the old app, OverDrive in terms of UX.
4. Libby only works when you have a good high speed data connection, and even then it is constantly closing your book and making you wait while it loads and reloads pages.
5. The UI is fine, but the app is buggy and slow (playback takes a long time to start), and crashes randomly (UI becomes unresponsive while the audio book continue to play).
6. The audiobook player, however, is excellent. This is hands down the best platform I have used for both audio and regular books.
7. It also has a sleep timer to turn off automatically while I fall asleep. Two stars only because they do have the books and audiobooks I'm looking for.
8. But it's vital to note that this is a completely free service with access to thousands of books and even audiobooks.
9. The books it suggests are mostly garbage that push the liberal agenda, but if I spend some time searching, I can find some decent books.
10. Not everyone has Internet. The app works great! Only drawbacks are very limited selection paired with waiting on what other people have "checked out" which is fair for the price of free.
11. The audio player is full featured, with playback speed controls to speed up slow narrators.
