Mi Mover Customer Insights

1. Only thing worth mentioning is that it takes a lot longer to transfer over all the files than the time duration mentionedSomehow both better and worse then Samsung smart switch It's better when you have to transfer some app data, it's like you never changed phones in the aspect,but it also just, doesn't transfer apps sometimes? Also takes just a wee bit more than smart switch Overall alright I guessA little trouble connecting, so I moved closer to the router with 4 bars, and an instant connection.

2. I will update this review if all the files were not transfer or if something goes wrong.Bit confusing to start with but once you download Mi Mover on both Xiaomi phones then enable both mi share and WiFi and bluetooth , then select one as sender and the receiver will have a big blue button saying installed on phone.

3. The transfer was simple I need to double check if all the information is now on my new phone, but from other data transfer applications this was the best one.

4. First was the fact that my older phone didn't have the option to be a recipient (Nokia to Xiaomi transfer.) In this case its a one way transfer, so it's a no go.

5. Next time for a Xiaomi phone use the smart transfer app.

6. Tapped on that and the sender found the receiver phone..tapped on it and from there was able to select all the different things to transfer.

7. Look at how Samsung does it.Had to transfer multiple times because it wouldn't transfer all the WiFi settings and SMS (maybe 75%).

8. Takes me around 1.5 hours just to transfer data.

9. It's so much easier quick.App did good & fast to transfer files but I've encountered some problems.

10. Second was that it failed to transfer one option & that is the sms.

11. Ended up using a different app manufacturer to transfer.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Mi Mover Issues

1. Fix Mi Mover Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Mi Mover: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Mi Mover App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Mi Mover" » Open Mi Mover » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Mi Mover » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Mi Mover app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Mi Mover servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mi Mover" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Mi Mover app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Mi Mover might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Mi Mover. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Mi Mover then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Mi Mover not working


2. Fix Mi Mover Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Mi Mover be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Mi Mover not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Mi Mover may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

    Two days ago I purchased a xiaomi poco m3 pro 5g. I had a xiaomi redmi note5A. At first i tried to transfer my contacts and photos to my new phone using bluetooth. I didn't tranfer any contacts finally as it was very late at night. The next day as I was searching for an easy way to transfer my contacts I read about mi mover . I installed it and did the procedure. My problem is that i can see in the contacts all the names but in the majority of them there is no telephone number. I would also like to mention that after i realised that the phone numbers were missing i turned on the my google account syncronicity. Please can you tell me what to do? I'm not very good with technology obviously. Thank you very much in advance and I'm looking forward to your reply.
