Geeni Customer Insights

1. It's not your WiFi connection bro! It's not you, it's them! Bogus, ridiculous trash!Good app but I wish you could have more then one option for setting day and night times for motion detecting with the cameras.

2. When reviewing/playback it would be helpful if there was more control indepth control over the time selection and being able to increase/decrease playback speed and 2.

3. It's only one setting, I need motion detection multiple times of the day depending on the time of the day, because I live on a busy street.

4. App has a lot of potential, but I appreciate the price.The cameras are decent for the price and the app has potential to be a great example for other security set ups...BUT it is definitely in need of help...my 2 biggest issues are: 1.

5. When reviewing recorded video and zooming in or swiping across the current screen causes the live camera to actually move then I'm looking at the sky.This app is barely worth 3 stars.

6. Nothing stays connected, nothing reconnects, constantly having to turn wifi on and off, rebooting phone, all to shut my light off to go to bed... no thanksWorks great for what it is.

7. You get notification Images with timestamp but trying to narrow down the playback to that time by sliding the marker bar can be difficult.

8. Would be 5 stars if they had more control on viewing footage.The app is good considering the savings over others.

9. You cannot rely on the motion detection to pickup animals, even at the highest sensitivity, even when they take up a quarter of the screen, especially with the infrared.

10. When that doesn't work, which is 90% of the time, I have to disable wifi, then turn it back on, several times, before it decided to reconnect.

11. The latest one somehow didn't get fully removed, some rules were so broken they had to be recreated entirely from scratch! Two stars instead of one since it works at all.I've been using this app for around 3 years and have loved it.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Geeni Issues

1. Fix Geeni Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Geeni: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Geeni App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Geeni" » Open Geeni » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Geeni » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Geeni app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Geeni servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Geeni" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Geeni app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Geeni might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Geeni. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Geeni then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Geeni not working


2. Fix Geeni Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Geeni be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Geeni not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Geeni may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
