12 Step Toolkit Customer Insights

1. I've done my step work with an in person sponsor every time and right out of the book.This app has been really helpful as I've started recovery, but one thing I *really* wish I could change - being able to add or edit a Higher Power! Mine is not on the list given, nor is there a close variation that is really suitable so I'd love to be able to add or edit one.

2. That is if I don't delete the free version because of the annoying dinging first.I love this app, and one feature in particular is the hourly notifications that keep you thinking about sobriety.

3. I also wish they had the option to change your preferred word/pronouns for your Higher Power.Disappointed that with the new upgrade came cool new features you have to purchase with a membership.. while in our program theres no dues or fees.

4. I've only been using this app a short while and so far it's been great! The only advice I would give to the user is that if you're in a meeting and want to go to Daily Reflections, make sure to turn your phone volume down lest the music from the ad in between disrupts a speaker! Speaking from experience, but I am currently using the free app.

5. That being said, PLEASE fix the hourly consciousness reminders so I can swipe down twice from notifcation area to see the whole thing or click on it and be taken to a place in the app to view the reminder.

6. There's even a nightly inventory journal! Keeping track of this on paper on a daily basis can seem like a chore, but having the app makes it easier and more tempting to keep track of.

7. Dude, I don't like this new "revamped" version and the hourly notifications that there doesn't seem to be an option to turn off are really annoying.

8. Update: 3.13.2020 - Issues resolved! 5 stars!This app is awesome! I love the hourly conscious reminders.

9. If there's a way to see these hourly reminders, lmk!I love the features of this app and the redesign is very well done.

10. Will most likely delete and find an app that actually works for me and my recovery, not tries to make money off of it.

11. The ads are pretty constant though, and I wish they had a less expensive option to remove ads or perhaps a tiered subscription system.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix 12 Step Toolkit Issues

1. Fix 12 Step Toolkit Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart 12 Step Toolkit: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the 12 Step Toolkit App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "12 Step Toolkit" » Open 12 Step Toolkit » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for 12 Step Toolkit » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear 12 Step Toolkit app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from 12 Step Toolkit servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "12 Step Toolkit" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check 12 Step Toolkit app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, 12 Step Toolkit might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall 12 Step Toolkit. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall 12 Step Toolkit then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing 12 Step Toolkit not working


2. Fix 12 Step Toolkit Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make 12 Step Toolkit be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to 12 Step Toolkit not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, 12 Step Toolkit may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
