1. Just over all a really not good experience in my opinion.NO☆'s! SCAM! THEY WILL LOCK YOUR ACCT & HOLD YOUR $ HOSTAGE! Went to use my card- INVALID CARD #, I go to view in app card & it says my acct is locked? msg support & they say suspected fraudulent activity- I got2 wait on someone to contact me, can't contact them, & locked til then! 2 weeks dealing w/ this BS pretty sure I'm getting ROBBED.

2. Recvd notification my deposit was sent so I was going to finally activate my card only to find out the account is restricted, why I don't F$#$#NG know, I was NEVER NOTIFIED of any weird activity happening.

3. Attempted to call customer service, but the automated response said my phone number was not associated with an account and hung up.

4. Upon opening the account, I made several unsuccessful attempts to setup direct deposit via mobile app eventually setting it up manually via my employer.

5. The thing is, I reset my password using a text to my phone number, so how does that even happen? I advocate against using Spruce and encourage people to use a real bank, not this irresponsible mess of an app.So sick of this garbage app.

6. I hope they enjoy my $50.opened this account in may by June set up direct deposit to have a portion of my check deposited into this account.

7. You have to do a fax/ literal mail to even request money to be moved out of the account to am external account then wait a whole week to get it.

8. Decided to shut my account down and go with a different bank and I've yet to actually receive an email on the confirmation of my account status.

9. I log in, email, password, and then a screen says nice let's set up your account.

10. Literally on multiple occasions it locks me out of my account and refuses to let me log back in even though i am putting in all of the correct login information.

11. However not being able to cash my checks because thats the main reason i got this app is enough to make me ready to close this account.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Spruce Issues

1. Fix Spruce Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Spruce: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Spruce App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Spruce" » Open Spruce - Mobile banking » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Spruce » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Spruce - Mobile banking app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Spruce servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Spruce - Mobile banking" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Spruce app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Spruce might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Spruce. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Spruce then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Spruce not working


2. Fix Spruce Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Spruce be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Spruce not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Spruce may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

I have 1000;dollars in pending to be credited to me I've already called the merchants and they have released them and voided it so you can give me my money back . I've been going I. Circles with spruce and there back office has never called me back since March 3 I've been deal with this I want my money to me this fraudulent actionsand someone needs to give me my money back .
