1. It is slightly better than a more well known competitor, duolin**, and the addition of the YouTube videos are great, but it's not enough to cost almost 3x as much! If they cut the price in half, it would be 5 stars and a keeper..I just can't justify the price premium for a half star advantage.It's a useful app, but there are inconsistencies in the way some particles are transliterated.
2. If I hadn't already studied Japanese, things like that would puzzle and frustrate me.This app has a great concept and fairly good execution.
3. Two stars because the app seems pretty decent while online, but c'mon airplane mode is critical use case when you're traveling to a foreign country.BEST LANGUAGE APP PERIOD.
4. Would recommend! Update: I had to drop it down one star because not enough content is released to keep up with my pace of study.
5. I ended up just watching netflix dramas with dual subtitles.It's great...but expensive! It's great as long as you have the basics down.
6. you're watching youtube videos mostly ads, trailers, public announcements and a few songs.
7. For example, in the very beginning lessons, wa (subject marker) is written as ha because that's the character used for it; however, in later lessons one is supposed to unput wa, and no explanation is offered for the change.
8. Also try Tandem to speak.A very good daily adjunct to your total Spanish learning program.
9. Duo and Rosetta are AWESOME but you realize that even if you're doing amazing in those, you can't keep up with a conversation in real speed.
10. The most valuable videos are people talking casually on the streets where you get to hear shortcuts and slangs, and there are very few of those.
11. I've already listened to all of the intermediate and advanced videos available for a couple weeks now.
