1. A good deal for the price.. Thank you!As I zoom around the map, some sections download and other sections never seen to update with detail.

2. A little slow to start until you move around and zoom in and out on maps, until they are loaded into memory.

3. There is no indication if maps are downloading in the background, which breaks rule #1 of UI design; always provide feedback.

4. For example, zoom onto Squirrel Island on the cost of Maine off of Boothbay Harbor.

5. Every time I use it it gets faster and I don't need wi-fi for maps that I have visited, a real plus.

6. No detail or depth.. Don't try to use this for boating.I have a friend that has this app for the iphone and has much more details.I have the galaxy s3 had this app is terrible.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Nautical Charts Issues

1. Fix Nautical Charts Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Nautical Charts: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Nautical Charts App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Nautical Charts" » Open Nautical Charts » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Nautical Charts » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Nautical Charts app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Nautical Charts servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Nautical Charts" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Nautical Charts app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Nautical Charts might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Nautical Charts. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Nautical Charts then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Nautical Charts not working


2. Fix Nautical Charts Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Nautical Charts be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Nautical Charts not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Nautical Charts may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
