About SatFinder

1. The azimuth, elevation and skew angle is calculated for your location and chosen satellite.

2. It will give you azimuth, elevation and LNB tilt for your location (based on GPS) and chosen satellite from list.

3. It has also built in compass which will help you to find proper satellite azimuth.

4. So if on compass green and red indicators are on each other – front of the phone should show you direction to the satellite.

5. Under calculated values there is a compass with graphical representation of azimuth angle.

6. If app found your location, you must select desired satellite.

7. Green line represents your phone azimuth.

8. The azimuth angle is calculated with magnetic inclination.

9. SatFinder (Satellite Finder) is a tool which will help you to set up satellite dish.

10. On the list you will find all satellites with elevation angle above zero degrees.

11. Remember: satellite name doesn’t affect the calculation of angles.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SatFinder Issues

1. Fix SatFinder Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SatFinder: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SatFinder App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SatFinder" » Open SatFinder » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SatFinder » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SatFinder app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SatFinder servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SatFinder" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SatFinder app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SatFinder might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SatFinder. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SatFinder then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SatFinder not working


2. Fix SatFinder Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SatFinder be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SatFinder not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SatFinder may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
