1. What's the point in having the app if I have to sit by the grill anyway? This should have been made ro work by wifi.First off, the range of Bluetooth in general is terrible, however, the range from the grill to your device is less than 10feet before it loses connection.
2. This is my first run with my new Cuisinart 4 in 1 - smoker seems to perform well but this Bluetooth connection is awful!! Only reason app is not easy to use is due to staying connected - otherwise it would be a yes.
3. Bluetooth connection is awful!! I'm outside, in a clear path to the smoker, less than 20' away from the smoker and it won't stay synced! I'm also less than 15' from my wifi router.
4. You'd be better off getting a wireless thermometer and Googling recipes....This app will lose connection with the thermometer, even while well within Bluetooth range.
5. What's the point of having a timer if it can't keep the cooking time? Additionally, the bluetooth feature is useless.
6. Point being, the app is pointless because the range is weak. After installing the app, it asked me to register my smoker, which I did, and also did the wifi set up.
7. If I have to be that close to the grill/smoker, then what's the point of this device? The Bluetooth function is completely useless because it will connect with any local device.
8. If you use your normal Android back button, (which doesn't auto-hide in this app,) you will log out of the app.Great concept, but constantly disconnects, not to mention it crashes all the time.
9. The convenience if having an app like this would be great if it worked properly and therefore the reason stated above is why I am only giving it two stars.Terrible - you can't be more than 20' from the base unit or be around a corner or have a door/window in between you and the base.
10. There's no point to set the temperature though, as soon as you walk away from the grill, it disconnects.
11. Anyone with a Bluetooth enabled phone in your vicinity will pick up and "capture" the signal before you.
