1. This app not only allows you to practice recognising randomly-chosen notes in the bass or treble clef, but it even has the test as a game, with increasing speed, goals to reach and high scores, which makes practicing easy and fun! Edit, 18.6.19: to increase the range of notes you get tested on, change the range settings to advanced!********** My dad taught me how to play some simple songs on the guitar at age 10.
2. I would suggest including actual melodies to improve timing and rhythm, being able to set the notation before the game begins to practice in a specific key or note range and a Midi connection so you can use your own compatible keyboard.
3. Good app though - highly recommended. This app has some good qualities for novices but for intermediate level it fails in two areas: even though the staff spans multiple octaves in advanced mode, the keyboard only shows one octave, which means you're actually playing the wrong notes on the keyboard relative to what's notated.
4. Secondly there is no grand staff, you can only choose between treble or bass, but not both at once. This app is exactly what I was looking for! The trick with sight reading is to practice.
5. I give it **********.Great app! Has helped me a lot, but now the limiting factor is not being able to see bass and treble at the same time.
6. A minor comment - the "texture" background on the screen looks mostly like a finger smear. This app is perfect for drilling musical notation note recognition.
7. When you first open the app; press practice..navigate to settings.. eliminate the note names if experienced.
8. In fact, I find it easier to hide the clef symbol with a thumb and then practice.
9. I like the fact that you input the notes on a virtual piano keyboard.
10. Going from wave 1 every time I want to practice is a bit bothersome.
11. Essentially, in the treble clef, the clef symbol is placed incorrectly.
