Hi-Fi Status(LG) Customer Insights

1. The 50ohm/ 3rd and most powerful mode is INSAANE! Had it come on accidentally once the way I trick the G8 to switch to second level/AUX output instead of 1st/normal headphone mod by using 3.5mm, 6inch extension and the volume almost blew my high end headphones! And my ear drums! By the way this app doesn't mess with these settings and can't be blamed at all for that. Was confused as to why my LG Q7+ on Sennheiser HD598 headphones wasn't consistently outputting the normal volume of sound and thought my phone was glitching out or my music app was doing something wrong and the Quad DAC wasn't engaging properly.

2. Thanks to Dev for a great app before Google got involved!Does exactly what it says! The app works perfectly, no glitches or issues on LG v60 Android 13.Great concept but doesn't seem to support custom ROMs that have the DAC driver (I'm using Lineage on a V20 and get not supported).

3. With this app I found out that my phone simply sometimes registered my headphones as an auxiliary device instead of switching into high impedance mode, as my headphones are rated at 50 ohms.LGV20 - valuable for what it is meant to do, which is to indicate how your device recognizes the attached audio peripheral.

4. Since this is responsible for the manner in which the ESS quad D/A converter chip is used (or not), along with it's in-built headphone amp, I like being able to observe with certainty what's happening, rather than just assuming. This app has worked great for many years on my V30, and now they broke it in v1.3.1: (A) It's now full of Korean menus, which I can't read.

5. My headfones aren't high impedence (~31ohm), but if I turn on the noise canceling b4 pluggin 'em in, it some how enables the DAC & I'm in audiophoric heaven! App has 3 icons, for which mode u triggered, wish those displayed up in the notification bar, next to 4G.

6. With the DAC on lg devices being really good, but impossible to tell which mode they're in, making the most out of them can be trifling.

7. Understandable since many are using stock on these devices and AOSP/Lineage likely does things completely different for handling the DAC.

8. Thankfully with this I know now the External Mode (Quad DAC Off) is the one that always sounded good to my ear.

9. Pretty sweet :)LGV20, H910, Nougat 7.0.. AT&T inconveniently left out this control/status function on the V20, "dumbing down" one of the reasons why I bought it.

10. The only tools it came with were a rudimentary status indicator and volume controls for left and right channels.

11. It tells you which mode you're using.
