1. All of my background phone notifications across the top flicker like a strobe light, the phone gets too hot, and it takes ateast 30 seconds for the picture to take, when it does, it's unfocused and can't read the barcode, so you have to try again, and again, taking several minutes for each item.

2. 100s of items couldn't be uploaded because it keeps failing each time with this stagnant error, " Failed to upload item, incomplete information." Even after filling up even the optional information.

3. Jazakallahu khairnSo this app is pretty great except for one thing, selecting my dietary preferences doesn't really work.

4. I have only been able to successfully scan just a few products at start and now whenever I scan a barcode, it ALWAYS asks me if 'I am a helper' and would like to submit details of this product and I happily oblige.

5. Custom option does not work selecting zabihah just spins for a second but doesnt move to another screen.

6. Especially if I tried to pick dietary preferences..many features of this app doesn't work.

7. And I am never able to get my information that I needed.Many basic and regular items missing on your list and it won't even accept the helper data that I try to share.

8. The most annoying thing is that after one scan, if you go back to home screen and try to scan again, the camera freezes and cannot scan at all.

9. I don't think it is okay to purchase the full version at a certain price and then they decide to change the pricing formula and just move you back to the free version that is full of ads.

10. And when I scan a bar code it keep saying "loading" and nothing happens.

11. I uninstalled and tried to get through the initial setup but it gets stuck on selecting my preference.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Scan Halal Issues

1. Fix Scan Halal Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Scan Halal: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Scan Halal App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Scan Halal" » Open Scan Halal » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Scan Halal » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Scan Halal app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Scan Halal servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Scan Halal" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Scan Halal app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Scan Halal might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Scan Halal. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Scan Halal then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Scan Halal not working
