About Nautical Almanac

1. It's good to be able to override the default, but my phone knows where it is why doesn't an app running on the phone know it? There's a Locate button but it doesn't work on Android 10 (Pixel 4) Also what I really want is sun and moon meridian passage and altitude at MP.Not complete because not include data for Local Hour Angle Not enough data from Almanac Need to put geographical position of the bodies Not total Almanac Too simpleVery useful and easy to navigate.

2. Upgrade to Android version 6 and nothing works, always crahesThis app is easy to use now as it have many function to determining solar system bodies and stars.Displays a lot of useful info in a clear, easy to read format.

3. Seems useful but I can't find any way to have it use my phones GPS location - it has to be I put in manually.

4. Only annoyance is the time changes to Local instead of UT1 when you enter a new time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Nautical Almanac Issues

1. Fix Nautical Almanac Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Nautical Almanac: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Nautical Almanac App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Nautical Almanac" » Open Nautical Almanac » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Nautical Almanac » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Nautical Almanac app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Nautical Almanac servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Nautical Almanac" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Nautical Almanac app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Nautical Almanac might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Nautical Almanac. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Nautical Almanac then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Nautical Almanac not working


2. Fix Nautical Almanac Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Nautical Almanac be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Nautical Almanac not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Nautical Almanac may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
