1. RPM S & W requires that your phone has a gyroscope. - Wrong message when the speed is "perfect": corrected. - The offset correction now applies also to the text rotation. - Correction for gyroscope sensor offset added: if you do a measure with the phone flat and steady, the mean rpm value will be automatically set as an offset for the next measurements.
2. RPM Speed & Wow lets you either look at the speed of your turntable, or measure the average speed, min/max variations and wow value. - click "start" on the app and start the turntable: the app waits 10 seconds in order to have a steady speed, then acquires data for other 10 seconds and displays average, max-min RPM values and wow estimation.
3. Achtung: don't worry, variations are totally normal in every turntable! - Clearer (and greener) average line in the graph. - Solved a graphic problem with certain text size general settings. - Major update!
4. Offset correction: if you do a measure with the phone flat and steady, the mean rpm value will be automatically set as an offset for the next measurements.
5. Offset correction remains active until the app is closed and reloaded.
6. Offset correction remains active until the app is closed and reloaded.
7. While still spinning, the app becomes red where the turntable runs faster than the average, and blue where the turntable runs slower.
8. Now the app becomes red where the turntable runs faster than the average, and blue where the turntable runs slower.
9. Click "reset" to reset the app to do another measurement (this does not reset the offset of the current session).
10. Active Offset-correction is indicated by a text message. - Colorfest!
11. Active Offset-correction is indicated by a text message.
1. This app made all those items cumbersome and obsolete! Get this if you care to adjust your table's speed! It's very close to correct speed to almost perfect I have a small audio repair business and see lots of turntables new to vintage and use the app all the time and it's just as good as using a strobe disk more convenient to also I don't have correct lighting anymore in my work area as I use modern lighting that I wanted to upgrade but I couldn't because of this app its allowed me to been using it for about 2 years or soReally simple to use and did the trick! Seemed to be pretty accurate as well.
2. Definitely solid! It works! All I had to do was install/open app and place in center of my turntable! Was able to fine tune the direct drive motor.I wanted something simple to check the speed on my new used turntable and adjust it accordingly.
3. Upped it to 5-starsAbsolutely brought my estate sale turntable back to life! This was my first endeavor with a belt driven table and I attempted to print of a stroboscope graph out in order to check the speed with a strobe app (horrible apps for this... dont bother).
4. Phone won't move. The actual measured speed seems to accurate because I'm getting similar results from two different apps but the Wow and Flutter seems totally arbitrary.
5. Duh, to the guy dumb enough to put his phone on the mat and it spun off, use a record weight over the spindle, then put the phone on the record weight, dead center of the platter.
6. It literally solved in 30 seconds a slight turntable speed calibration issue that I've been unable to solve by ear for 10 years.
7. I think it probably works best if you can put your phone dead center over the spindle on a record clamp/weight, which is what I do.
8. I balanced my phone closer as I could to dead center propped up on the spindle and got much more believable wow/flutter ratings of 0.29 which is within .04 of the rated spec.
9. To get my phone in the center of the spinning record, I loaded an old 12" vinyl and put my 45 adapter on top of that, which created a flat surface at the center for my phone to sit on.
10. A VERY simple interface, easy to read, and surprisingly accurate (tested on my at1240).
11. Also reassuring to see how my deviation was 33.4 vs 33.3 and .1% wow and flutter!I have a 40 year Japanese direct drive turntable.
