Member Tools Customer Insights

1. If you have this issue, DO NOT uninstall the app, as you'll lose what you have now (since the first thing it does when you reinstall is sync, and if you can't, you'll end up with nothing.) PLEASE FIX THIS!!! I need this app for my calling daily! *the update released Feb 2019 solved my sync issue - THANK YOU!*This is a must have app for members and leaders.

2. It is inconsistent, so its potential is held back.This is a great app for the phone, but the tragedy is that you can't access the same tools for a desktop! I really need the "Lists" capability to send out email blasts for agendas and assignments.

3. Not sure why they thought that would be helpful but what used to be a useful feature to save having to manually type in addresses is now pretty much useless.... Really hope they switch it back soon! (I looked in settings no options to change it yourself.)Since Fall of 2021, this app has not been working correctly.

4. Definitely something that needs fixing since it happens with our address and people are constantly having trouble finding our apartment building because it takes them to a completely different building number and apartment number.Mostly great app.

5. Apparently, I'm not the only one experiencing this and it looks to be on mostly Samsung devices specifically, if not most Android devices in general... we all need this fixed ASAP.I want to love this app! But it's frustrating.

6. I would love to use it in my calling, but since it is incomplete and I cannot access any of the features, it is pretty much uselessDoesn't let me log in since sometime in 2019 rendering it completely useless.

7. But, since the last update, when you click on an address it now opens with Uber of all things instead of Google maps.

8. The biggest and most annoying problem is when you click on the directions icon to take you to somebody's house, it will frequently take you to the incorrect address! I have read the address and then clicked the directions icon and a new address will appear.

9. Thanks for all the hard work on it!The app has stopped working since the last system/phone update back in August or September... maybe even July, I can't remember.

10. They've incorporated many new features, but lack obvious ones (inability to edit the calendar, basic LCR tools, etc.) Please continue to improve the stability and add more features.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Member Tools Issues

1. Fix Member Tools Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Member Tools: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Member Tools App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Member Tools" » Open Member Tools » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Member Tools » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Member Tools app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Member Tools servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Member Tools" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Member Tools app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Member Tools might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Member Tools. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Member Tools then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Member Tools not working


2. Fix Member Tools Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Member Tools be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Member Tools not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Member Tools may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
