1. Bishop is a Bible research application which works with the vast library of resources (2000+ Bibles, commentaries, lexica, and more) published for use with The SWORD Project from the CrossWire Bible Society.
2. Many modern Bible publishers have also graciously allowed CrossWire to make their Bibles freely available for use with our software, including the Lockman Foundation's New American Standard Bible (NASB).
3. By far, the vast majority of Bibles, commentaries, lexica/dictionaries, daily devotionals, etc. , available for our tools are free and CrossWire never charges for our software tools or resources.
4. Finally, a small number of publishers directly offer their texts for use with our software for a small fee, including the German Bible Society's Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament (NA28).
5. Unique tools include ancient New Testament manuscript research utilizing the New Testament Virtual Manuscript Room resources from the Institute for New Testament Text Research.
6. CrossWire desires to make available as many resources as we are able.
7. Bibles are available in hundreds of languages.
8. These include Bibles and commentaries out of copyright.
9. If you have a text for which you control the permissions or you know of a text which is currently not available, and you would like this resource to be available for use within our software, please send an email to our modules team at: modules@crosswire.
1. I see how it's supposed to work now and it's my new favorite tool for Bible study went back to old phone and manually added permissions and it works well there too.
2. Good visual layout, but 2 serious problems: it always starts showing notes and I have to toggle it off; and I can't view books I downloaded, e.g., the Triglotta.
3. But I found another problem—in portrait viewing and Commentary Assist mode, the commentary column displays clipped text on the right.New phone with Android 10 instead of the 11 I was used to and the app actually asked for permissions and didn't have any issues.
4. Can this be addressed? Why did you change the left side panel to need to now push on top and then get into it? And the beginning image is kinda unecesseary as well..... -edit- Lost my books with the update... And thereby the ESV and the rest.
5. Not sure why the programmer want to ruin it all.I downloaded this because I have Xiphos on my linux pc and wanted sword modules on my phone.
6. Really love the verse study feature when you install strong's dictionary's it breaks down the Greek and Hebrew word meaning.
7. New study resources can be added by first selecting an installation source at the top There are no sources! Nothing in the drop down menu gave me anything.I am an opensource fan.
8. I uninstalled, restarted phone then reinstalled app and problem persists.
9. However, wanting to read modules under "General Books" like Hodge's systematic theology or Calvin's institues, it's impossible.
10. This app (so far) works great for bibles, commentaries, word study and devotionals.
11. It's borderline useless.I also have the problem with one bible & went to library section.
