Why should I report an Issue with NINA - Die Warn-App des BBK?

3. Die Warn-App NINA (Notfall-Informations- und Nachrichten-App) warnt Sie deutschlandweit vor Gefahren, auf Wunsch auch für Ihren aktuellen Standort.

4. Mit NINA können Sie Orte auswählen, für die Sie Warnmeldungen erhalten möchten.

5. Bitte beachten Sie: Um standortbezogene Warnungen korrekt darstellen zu können, muss NINA Ihren Standort bestimmen können.

6. Eigener Standort: Warnmeldungen für Ihren aktuellen Standort sind nur bei Nutzung von GPS, WLAN und anderen Geolokalisierungsdiensten möglich.

7. Haben Sie diese Dienste auf Ihrem Gerät deaktiviert, können Sie keine standortbezogenen Warnmeldungen erhalten.

8. In der Karte werden alle vorliegenden Warnmeldungen angezeigt, auch wenn Sie den Ort nicht ausgewählt haben.

9. Seit 2013 können auch alle Lagezentren der Länder und viele bereits angeschlossenen Leitstellen von Städten und Kommunen das Warnsystem nutzen ( ).

10. Warnungen und Informationen können Sie nur mit einer Datenverbindung (per WLAN oder mobil) empfangen.

11. Im Einstellungsmenü können Sie festlegen, bei welcher Warnstufe Sie per Push-Benachrichtigung informiert werden sollen.

1. So far I have 19 for today's rain and it isn't even done yet.Is it really hard to allow copying and/or translating alert messages? The fact that the project owner, seems to do not care whether international people and tourists can understand incoming alerts, in very disturbing.Majority of warnings are only available in German, even though in theory the application offers English language as a choice, in practice most warnings come completely untranslated.

2. This could have and should have been caught in your Quality Assurance (did you even send out a notification to several million Android emulators to test it?) I checked the logs on my phone and the issue is simple - no network traffic from/to NINA until I pulled to refresh the history - the app was running, I had a stable wifi connection + mobile data from Vodafone and O2.

So far, over the past 3 months, it has accurately warned me several times about local issues in Ingolstadt (bomb found during construction work, heavy thunderstorms etc).Feature request : please enable selection and copying of text content from the app (UI is in English which is great but content is not).

4. Is this a way of saying we don't care what happens to you if you don't speak the language?Problem: Today, on 10 Sep 2020, when there should have been nationwide alert messages issued at app.

5. It's rather egregious that an app so critical to residents health and well-being ignores the simple undeniable fact that many immigrants don't speak at all or speak poorly the German language.

6. Please stop advertising NINA as a disaster notification app - it puts people's lives at risk.The app is good and sends the warning.

7. But, please allow users to copy the warning text and translate it to the language of their choice in an external website.

8. Vielen Dank!Obviously, I live in a very quiet region of Germany - the only warnings I got besides the test few days ago were Covid19 statistics and changes of the Covid 19 policies.

9. Since I do not understand German fully, I would like to copy the German text shown on the app into the translator app.

10. This is a must, otherwise this app is not really useful for someone with language barrier.During #Warntag2020 it didn't warn me.

11. What me really annoys is, that NINA never ever cleans up it's cache, and gathers tens of gigabytes of cached data.

1. Fix NINA Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart NINA: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the NINA App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "NINA" » Open NINA - Die Warn-App des BBK » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for NINA » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear NINA - Die Warn-App des BBK app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from NINA servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "NINA - Die Warn-App des BBK" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check NINA app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, NINA might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall NINA. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall NINA then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing NINA not working

2. Fix NINA Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make NINA be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to NINA not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, NINA may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
