1. Update: the new UI is awful why did you move the power button down to the nav bar and why does it turn off a seemingly random amount of lights? Im embarrassed I ever recommended.Horrible. Constantly disconnects Edit: Downgraded to 1 star due to reply.

2. My continually having to restart the app to get it to find the device (maybe once out of every 7 times, keyword MAYBE) is indicative of the app not working properly especially since the light indicates it is connected to my network (which is stable).

3. Nothing works, it'll either load to 99% and the time out, or it'll tell me to turn on my WiFi which already is and then...nothing. So the light strip is pointless as is the app.

4. All I can do it power it on and off, which a lightswitch can do.Works great! Updated 5/18/2021 Once a week, I have to delete my 2 Yeelight lightbulbs from my list of devices on my Amazon Alexa app and "re"discover them to have full voice control with my amazon devices.

5. I would like to see a dark mode though.Annoying having to sign up for an account, and suddenly there was a breaking change today (worked fine this morning) where I have zero control over the light.

6. The App, the light bulb and the company's support channel are complete rubbish.I really enjoy my lights.

10. However I kept getting an error message using the app saying I couldn't connect to the oregon server, and I was unable to save any scene I created.

11. I have both of my lights on the schedule at the same times on the flow setting, but they don't line up color wise.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Yeelight Classic Issues

1. Fix Yeelight Classic Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Yeelight Classic: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Yeelight Classic App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Yeelight Classic" » Open Yeelight Classic » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Yeelight Classic » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Yeelight Classic app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Yeelight Classic servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Yeelight Classic" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Yeelight Classic app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Yeelight Classic might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Yeelight Classic. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Yeelight Classic then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Yeelight Classic not working


2. Fix Yeelight Classic Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Yeelight Classic be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Yeelight Classic not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Yeelight Classic may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
