VTech KidiConnect Customer Insights

1. My son sent me a text at work today and I couldn't wait to read it...the app takes sonlong to load my phone goes to sleep! When it finally loads, the log in screen won't remember your user and password, regardless of having the option to do so.

2. I was really excited about this because I would be able to communicate with my nephew who lives across the country, but I'm really let down! This seems like a great idea and a great concept, but the app just doesn't work!!It's a great app if would just work correctly.

3. I think VTech has great products, but not if the technology for them doesn't work for them.Bought this for my son so we could communicate.

4. My notifications setting is enabled for the app and all permissions are enabled so there is no reason why it should not work and I see it is an issue for many people.

5. Very disappointed with the app.Only major complaint is no notifications from the app to let us know we have been sent a message.

6. Now most recent update shows notifications, but no messages appear for me to see.

7. Push notifications, even just a simple number indicator on the app icon, should be simple enough to make sure this app provides to all devices.

8. He gets a notifications when he receives a message but I do not receive one unless the app is open.

9. Still not receiving messages while continuing to receive notifications.

10. When taking the photo everything is right side up, so why is kidi connect flipping the image?The concept is awesome, the execution is terrible.

11. PREVIOUS: Worked great for about an hour, but now when I try to log in, I get: "Error code 10 - The server is unavailable due to maintenance." So does my mom.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix VTech KidiConnect Issues

1. Fix VTech KidiConnect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart VTech KidiConnect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the VTech KidiConnect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "VTech KidiConnect" » Open VTech KidiConnect™ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for VTech KidiConnect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear VTech KidiConnect™ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from VTech KidiConnect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "VTech KidiConnect™" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check VTech KidiConnect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, VTech KidiConnect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall VTech KidiConnect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall VTech KidiConnect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing VTech KidiConnect not working


2. Fix VTech KidiConnect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make VTech KidiConnect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to VTech KidiConnect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, VTech KidiConnect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Good Afternoon,

    My child has the kidi connect phone. She is sending me messages and I get alerts on my phone but I am unable to log into the kidi connect app on my phone. I have attempted to change the password multiple times yesterday and today and it says it’s sending a change password link to my email but I never get the email. The email address is correct and I have old emails from Vtech saved in my email that prove that I’ve set up the learning lodge account with this email address. I just want to be able to log in on the app and communicate with my child on her kidi connect phone.

  • Whenever trying to get on to kidiconnect with kidibuzz g2 it keeps saying note to parent you must review the updated terms. I sign in and agree it says that can resume but it then pops up again.

  • I bought my daughter a kidibuzz phone, checked it out, tossed the box as all was working. 2 days later ( and over a week long problem) my phone will not open KidiConnect and neither will my tablet. This purchase is JUNK now. Please either refund money for device or fix the app. My daughter is very upset.

  • KidiConnect was working great for a week or so. Then locked my child out and keeps telling me I have not unlocked the app. When going through the turns and conditions it will not move past that page. Just spins and won’t advance. Very frustrating.

  • The app was working properly initially but now my daughter's dad and aunt are not receiving a lot messages, the messages are marked unread when they have been read, she is not receiving their replies and they get no notifications. Both have iphones. It works fine for other family members without iphones. Please can you sort? Her dad and I are recently divorced and she thinks he is ignoring her texts!

  • We have 2 Vtech Kidibuzz g2 phones just purchased in December for Christmas. We used the kidiconnect app literally for 2 days and it has not worked since will not even allow us to log in or anything. Does not work on vtech phones or our own smart phones anymore. We only bought these phones to text with our kids. they are useless with out the app working correctly.
