1. The only issue is it does NOT WORK with Android 9 that has been out for almost a year now, when can we expect an update?The app could be great only if it got faster updates!Android 11 is already out for quite some time and there is still no compatibility to it!also there are some stability issues regarding connection to AIS-es and unfortunately still no support for class A AIS Position Sensor!No connection with chart server, no updates more than 1 year ... looks like abandonware to me.

2. Navionics now has gpx import / export options !! will most likely be changing over to Navionics (much more frequent in chart updates than iSailor).I loved this app, the charts were great and easy to use, however when I had to reformat my tablet I lost all my charts (which I paid over £300 for).

3. Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Note 9 and Tab S4 running the up to date OS? Also, how are you intending to compensate your customer base for the non-support of your software which has now rendered it useless after investing heavily in the product?One of the best navigation apps, good charts.

I have reported these issues like years ago, but there has been no improvement.Firstly, I have been disappointed by your decision to reverse your position on the updating of purchased charts as I have spent a very large sum of money to ensure that I have the best charts available in the vast areas that I currently navigate in.

5. You need to uninstall and reinstall the software, using the same login credentials as you bought the charts with.

6. Very disappointing, as this was a fantastic app which I had referred to my friends.great app - I have a background as a professional sailor - and this tool is uncluttered - relatively simple to use - with good interoperability (works with other data and feeds) .In addition we use the Garmin Glo 150 remote GPS - to ensure redundancy.

7. Further to this, I operate the software on the Android platform and have been disgusted in the lack of support from the software developers to keep up with the continuous improvement of the Android developers to Android 9.

8. In my case I was logged into the store with the correct account, but that's not enough, you also need to reinstall isailor using the same credentials.Good app with very intuitive features / ease of use.

9. The iSailor software is now not even compatible with the devices that I am attempting to operate it on and doesn’t even show in the Google Play Store for download.

10. The restore purchased charts function didn't work and therefore I can't use my purchased charts.

11. On my existing devices after the Android update to 9, the iSailor app has become unstable and non-functional in many ways to the point that it is now a useless app to own.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Wärtsilä iSailor Issues

1. Fix Wärtsilä iSailor Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Wärtsilä iSailor: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Wärtsilä iSailor App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Wärtsilä iSailor" » Open Wärtsilä iSailor » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Wärtsilä iSailor » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Wärtsilä iSailor app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Wärtsilä iSailor servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Wärtsilä iSailor" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Wärtsilä iSailor app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Wärtsilä iSailor might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Wärtsilä iSailor. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Wärtsilä iSailor then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Wärtsilä iSailor not working


2. Fix Wärtsilä iSailor Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Wärtsilä iSailor be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Wärtsilä iSailor not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Wärtsilä iSailor may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • NMEA and AIS sensors are not working. The current ship’s icon is missing. Even when using IOS sensor, the location of the ship does not update. Using Apple iPad Air 2.

  • Hi - I purchased 2 sets of charts pre 2018 (Falkland Islands & UK south coast) and have been unable to download them to my new iPad. I understood that charts purchased prior at this time could be used for as long as needed. Can you please advise how I can accesss them. Thank you

  • I have had Hawaiian islands , South Pacific islands Tahiti etc since before Isailor was a guided by wartsila. I thought that I would not be charged for updates on those plus some others purchase those years ago.

  • Bought an Ipad & installed iSailor. Revoved all apps & Returned Ipad since it did not have internal GPS. I do not own any Apple products

  • If I update the chart North Sea Netherlands-Belgium, it says it will renew automatically at 1-4-2023. But my chart is frim 2021, so old and not updated.
