TIMEX FamilyConnect Customer Insights

1. Text and call features work as expected.Calling doesn't work, watch has no text notifications, I would like to be able to forward the messages to my phone number instead of having to use the app.

2. Over all, Timex has been very lazy with the development of this product.Great app but really needs to allow a smaller safe zone!! Its current smallest radius is over 1-2 blocks!!! I want to be alerted closer to home not 2 blocks away!!! Not to mention the delayed alert time of every 3 mins.

3. Setup is easyApp is terrible! When trying to set everything up it kept telling me the QR code the watch was displaying was incorrect! Took at least 3 tries on every step of setup to get it to register.

4. Is excellent simple to set up ( in minutes), attractive to them because is really basic and easy to operate, they don't have access to Internet, just calls and messages from people you allow to do it!.. much better than those offer at Amazon, (those are a nightmare to set up!.). Let's see what happen with durability !.

5. This is our first foray with the kid's smartwatch, so I'm hoping that the functionality of the device will outweigh the limitations of the app.Watch is pretty good.

6. What if they ran out into the busy street or if there's a pond nearby... needs to fixed ASAP!!! As for people who are setting up for the first time make sure to turn it on and charge it to 100% battery.

7. 🤬Updated review: The watch was a major hassle to get paired with my phone during setup.

8. The watch is too small, comes in one color, the screen sucks, no voice typing (only voice recordings).

9. Biggest complaint I have is that when tapping message notifications on your phone screen, the app doesn't take you straight to the message.

10. There is an option for recurring reminders, but you can't award stickers or rewards.Slow to update my child's location.

11. Update: less than 8 hours of wearing the watch and the tilt to wake has stopped working.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix TIMEX FamilyConnect Issues

1. Fix TIMEX FamilyConnect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart TIMEX FamilyConnect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the TIMEX FamilyConnect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "TIMEX FamilyConnect" » Open TIMEX FamilyConnect™ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for TIMEX FamilyConnect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear TIMEX FamilyConnect™ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from TIMEX FamilyConnect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "TIMEX FamilyConnect™" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check TIMEX FamilyConnect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, TIMEX FamilyConnect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall TIMEX FamilyConnect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall TIMEX FamilyConnect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing TIMEX FamilyConnect not working


2. Fix TIMEX FamilyConnect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make TIMEX FamilyConnect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to TIMEX FamilyConnect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, TIMEX FamilyConnect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
