Tasker Customer Insights

1. So when I'm rushing trying to get a message sent to my client before the app crashes and I have to force close & then open it & start all over again the keyboard just makes it even more irritating & harder to do.

2. Update: 4/26/23 The bugs still haven't been fixed, and if I am sending a message to a client and it takes more than 2 minutes, the app stops responding.

3. The chat is crashing so often, I am forced to type out my messages in a note and copy/paste, before it has a chance to crash It's awesome that this app exists to make it so easy for us to have a side gig.

4. Plus the Map feature is a pain and far too restrictive.It's easy to use, but buggy, the app works most of the time, except when I am messaging a client, it stops responding and becomes incredibly slow.

5. Can't get more than a few words in before it freezes- have to type what I want to say in a note and then copy and paste it into the chat.

6. Call function does not work, despite all permissions, settings, spam filters, profile info being correct.

7. Extremely frustrating when they want you to speak to clients on the app and you're trying a long message and it freezes.

8. Sometimes the app removes me from being active/receiving tasks and messages aren't sent because of connectivity issues.this app is very useful.

9. The keyboard doesn't offer emojis, auto-correct, predictive text, or text shortcuts.

10. I'm losing clients, losing jobs, and unable to put in my schedule.The app glitches a lot recently and has always had problems with working in smaller doses.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Tasker Issues

1. Fix Tasker Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Tasker: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Tasker App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Tasker" » Open Tasker by Taskrabbit » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Tasker » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Tasker by Taskrabbit app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Tasker servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Tasker by Taskrabbit" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Tasker app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Tasker might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Tasker. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Tasker then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Tasker not working


2. Fix Tasker Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Tasker be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Tasker not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Tasker may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
