Magic Piano Customer Insights

1. Only problem is if you really want to have your favorite songs I'd recommend doing in app purchases because the offers don't tend to work well and you only get 1 or 2 smoola's(what you buy songs with) each time you level up.

2. The ads that start in the middle of songs are ridiculously frustrating and I have to start the whole song over because it ruins the flow and timing when you get thrown back in after the ad.

3. I also wish that they would put more free songs to play so you wouldn't have to wait a few days to level up.

4. There are major performance issues in songs with a lot of notes, which didn't happen before.

5. The only downfall to this app is it is so hard to earn free smoola or coinage to get new songs.

6. Like, I'll play a song, get to the middle of the song, and then... BLAM! all the notes disappear! It totally kills my score.

7. Hopefully they update it to be more like the iPhone app.Fun to play and has all your favorite songs.

8. Recently switched to android and the app is a lot different, has literally no options in the settings, and when I logged into my account NONE of my songs or achievements switched over.

9. Every song I play (it happens more frequently in the medium and hard difficulties) it doesn't register my taps.

10. Requires at least 25 "smoola" (coins) to even play! This wouldn't be such a problem for me if smoola weren't next to impossible to get.

11. I appreciate the regular free options every week but sometimes they get repetitive and I end up with 10 versions of the same song.Used to be a lot of fun, and can still be enjoyable.. BUT.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Magic Piano Issues

1. Fix Magic Piano Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Magic Piano: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Magic Piano App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Magic Piano" » Open Magic Piano by Smule » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Magic Piano » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Magic Piano by Smule app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Magic Piano servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Magic Piano by Smule" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Magic Piano app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Magic Piano might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Magic Piano. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Magic Piano then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Magic Piano not working


2. Fix Magic Piano Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Magic Piano be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Magic Piano not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Magic Piano may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
