1. What makes this really annoying is if you go to their actual website they make sure a banner that you cannot remove even thought there is an 'X' encourages you to use the awful terrible appLike the app a lot, my only beef is that graphics (like data graphs, etc) are often wider than the screen and you can't horizontal scroll to see the whole thing because the app just navigates to the next story instead.
2. Never tried the audio again.11/8/22: This is a competent, no frills app that works well enough (except when not - see below), but it's lacking features that make a news app worth using instead of a browser.
3. It would be great if you could either horizontal scroll or maybe click to open the graphic in a new screen and allow landscape. The introductory offer is excellent, couldn't afford not to get it.
4. Overall these reader experiences result in at best rating of C-.I'm a 50 year Chronicle print subscriber, but since I travel frequently I was very happy when they finally released an Android app.
5. The Chronicle needs a serious UX reboot.Update 6/13/22- tried the audio again, same thing.
6. What's the point of an app if it can't render your stories? Repeated attempts to resolve through support have been fruitless. This app has a hopeless layout for daily readers.
7. It is frustrating trying to find new daily content because they prioritize features and lists.
8. You need to open up a browser and go to the webpage and find the article again to read it.
9. It's an excellent app, easy to use, full of informative and thoughtful discourse about the issues of the day, and I always find something interesting that I hadn't planned on seeing there.
10. It's always been annoying to do, as the selected cell gets overwritten instead of moving on, but now the bottom half is actually completely blocked.
11. Now just shows splash screen with "Error updating app data (100)" error message.
Please cancel my subscription to the Chronicle. Thank you for your help.
