SemaConnect Customer Insights

1. Would be great if the app knew I was recently there and could just select.Doesn't allow secure passwords or tell you what their arbitrary password requirements are, it doesn't get your credit card info, it doesn't allow you to charge, UI is horribly broken, looks like a bad late 90s internet explorer site, never able to charge with the app.

2. Take some notes from Charge Point on how to make a good, functional app and charging stations.I use this app almost every day and it does the job just fine.

3. It would be great if they can add a notification functionality specially at work place stations where members can get notified when a charging station becomes available for use.

4. Feature request: On the "Charge Now" screen, it would be great to have a list of recent places that I can just click once and start charging.

5. Having to use the serial number just to start charging seems a bit outdated for these modem times but at least that part works.Fail on all levels! At first I could not set up an account on the app or on the website.

6. I have to go into my phone and locate the app then look for charging stations, which the app doesn't do automatically.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SemaConnect Issues

1. Fix SemaConnect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SemaConnect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SemaConnect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SemaConnect" » Open SemaConnect » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SemaConnect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SemaConnect app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SemaConnect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SemaConnect" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SemaConnect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SemaConnect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SemaConnect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SemaConnect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SemaConnect not working


2. Fix SemaConnect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SemaConnect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SemaConnect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SemaConnect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
