1. Good to download and access cloud files but since I've had the app has been stuck on 98% building media library, keeps telling me about file browser then tells me I don't have it and need to install via app manager but there's nowhere to do this.

7. This year a neighboring cabin offered to let us connect to their wifi, so I connected the drive to that wifi and it works well.

8. Once again "the big corp" is trying to spin it needs phone access on the app to be able to function AN OFF NETWORK, SELF CONTAINED storage system.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Seagate Media Issues

1. Fix Seagate Media Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Seagate Media: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Seagate Media App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Seagate Media" » Open Seagate Media™ app » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Seagate Media » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Seagate Media™ app app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Seagate Media servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Seagate Media™ app" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Seagate Media app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Seagate Media might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Seagate Media. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Seagate Media then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Seagate Media not working


2. Fix Seagate Media Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Seagate Media be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Seagate Media not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Seagate Media may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
